The day has finally come, and Apple's new iPhone 4S is already flying into the eager hands of smartphone lovers around the world. If you're one of the lucky ones who managed to snag the phone early ? or if you awoke in the wee hours to stand in line and grab one today ? you're probably already enjoying the benefits of the new and improved camera and digital voice assistant. However, if you decided to wait until today to commit to the new handset, you can pick one up at a number of locations.
First and foremost, the primary location you should consider is an official Apple Store. These locations are likely to be well-stocked and the associates should be the most knowledgeable salespeople when it comes to the new iPhone. If you're not sure where your closest Apple Store is located, you can search for it via the company's store locator. Apple associates will also be able to link your new phone to an existing AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint account, negating the need to make two trips ? just make sure you bring your wireless account information along with you.
If your nearest Apple Store is too much of a hike, you can always head straight to your wireless provider to pick up the newest iPhone. If you're pleased with your service through AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint, and you've decided not to jump ship, all three companies should be reasonably well-stocked with the iPhone 4S. However, lines of eager iPhone fanatics waiting for the newest device have been spotted from coast to coast, so there's a chance that your nearest store is sold out. Calling your local wireless shop before making the trip is always a good idea, and most stores will allow you to place a hold on a new phone for at least a few hours.
The iPhone is more popular than it's ever been, and with a trio of carriers and official Apple retail outlets to choose from, your launch-day purchase plans have a good chance of succeeding. But if you're planning on changing providers ? perhaps to take advantage of Sprint's exclusive unlimited data plan ? make sure you know the fees associated with switching teams.
