Vegas trick-or-treater death suspect in court (AP)

LAS VEGAS ? A Las Vegas judge set Jan. 13 evidence hearing for a 41-year-old man facing felony reckless driving and driving under the influence charges in the Halloween night death of a 12-year-old trick-or-treater.

Justin Caramanica appeared in custody Thursday in Las Vegas Justice Court. The Las Vegas Sun reports ( http://bit.ly/rTeuYU) his lawyer, William Terry, said he was trying to raise $10,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond for Caramanica's release from jail.

Caramanica would be on house arrest with an alcohol sensor bracelet and wouldn't be allowed to drive.

Terry says Caramanica will plead not guilty in the crash that killed seventh-grader Faith Love.

Police say Caramanica's blood-alcohol percentage was just under the 0.08 percent blood-alcohol limit for driving in Nevada, but Caramanica might also have taken prescription drugs.
